You only hear the tail-end of what the play-by-play guy is saying before the ball is snapped, and it can sometimes come off completely bizarre. I pretty much have to be there front and center, with no other real distractions, to enjoy the condensed version of games.īut the most surreal part of the condensed games is the clipped commentary. But condensed is awesome for burning through 2-3 yard runs, incomplete passes, boring 3-and-outs, etc.Īnd I don't think you can "zone out" with condensed games if you shut your eyes for a minute, you could literally miss two possessions.

Sometimes I'll flip over to the broadcast version, then flip back to condensed, because something big went down and I want to get the full effect. In a perfect world, they'd tap the breaks at the more dramatic moments, show replays of big plays, etc. Yeah, condensed games are a little too abrupt (but they don't skip over penalties they show every one).
